Some equipment fitted with a C14 inlet (to accept the IEC C13 connector pictured above) can run at close to 10 Amps e.g. some servers, rack mounted fan trays, . A fuse that consistently runs at close to it's rating can suffer fatigue and not blow when required. So, in certain circumstances, it is correct to over-rate the fuse. For further clarification on the appropriate fusing of cables or equipment, please consult a suitably qualified person.
