This product will connect any 24 AWG communications cable but is best suited to standard unshileded 4 pair UTP Cat5, Cat5e.
It can be used on a Cat6 UTP network but network performance is only as good as the weakest link, assuming the rest of your cabling is Cat6 then this will likely be it.
