A duplex singlemode coupler is used to split or combine optical signals in a fibre optic system. It has two input ports and two output ports. It is commonly used in data centres, telecommunication systems, and other applications where high-speed data transmission is required to route network signals between locations. It can also be used to connect multiple devices to a single fibre optic link as well as facilitate the insertion of test equipment into the signal path to monitor the performance of a fibre optic system.
Operating with singlemode fibre that uses a single mode, or narrow beam of light to transmit data over long distances; this LC to LC coupler is designed with a latch mechanism which means it can be easily plugged in and disconnected and yet maintain a secure hold on plugged in connectors.
